This course will equip the learner with the necessary knowledge, skills and competence to undertake supervisory roles in the caring environment. Learners will acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to undertake supervisory management roles in the community and in a range of health services settings. Successful completion will offer enhanced opportunities in employment and will also enable learners to progress to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at higher levels of the NFQ. Students will study: Conflict Management, Supervisory Management, Health Promotion, Disability Awareness, Person Centred Planning, Work Practice, and Communications. As a graduate of this course you can pursue careers in the health field including: disability service providers, care homes, and crèches. You can also apply for degree courses in higher education institutions like IT Carlow, IT Blanchardstown, UCC, Sligo IT, Letterkenny IT, and IT Tallaght. Graduate employment opportunities exist in supervisory roles, working in the residential and non-residential health and social care settings, such as: resource centres, nursing homes, care centres, retirement centres, crèches and family support.
